ARRIVAL:

Check in at the Nuwejaarsrivier Guests Cabins any time after 14h00. Guests will be met by their guides at 17h30 prior to dinner.

The Route:

DAY 1:

After breakfast at 08h00, you will be met by your guides and start the days hike from your cabins through the farm, across the highway and onto a neighbouring farm, Honingklip where you will walk amongst the fynbos and view the horses. Lunch will be provided somewhere along the way. Coming down from the trail, you are met by the owner, a renowned fynbos author, for a quick chat about the history of the farm. The afternoon will be finished off with a beer tasting and beer making experience. After which you will take a leisurely stroll back to your cabins to enjoy the log fired hot tubs and a catered 3 course dinner.

DAY 2:

SONY DSC After breakfast at 08h00, you will be met by your guides and shuttled off to the Bosman Family Farm in the Hemel en Aarde Valley where you will walk amongst the fynbos and through the fruit orchards. Lunch will be served at the farm’s restaurant. The afternoon will allow for chats with the staff of the Bosman Family Farm and a wine tasting or two. The Shuttle will collect you from here and take you to the Windsor Hotel in Hermanus where your luggage will already be waiting for you. Dinner will be arranged at one of the many fantastic local restaurants within a safe walking distance to the hotel.

DAY 3:

After breakfast we shuttle to the Fernkloof Nature Reserve for a brief walkaround with informative chats from the guides. From there we walk down to the famous Grotto Beach and follow the coastal footpath skirting the border between Hermanus and the ocean. This is the perfect opportunity for some whale or dolphin spotting. Our guides will highlight the rich history of Hermanus, the coast path, the old harbour and more. Lunch is at Ficks Pool. Here we will all say goodbye. Guests will be transported back to their cars or own shuttle
transfer can be arranged.

THIS WHOLE AREA OFFERS AN INCREDIBLE BIODIVERSITY AND BREATHTAKING SCENERY. BE WARNED HOWEVER, THAT THE WEATHER WILL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE AS THIS AREA IS ALONGSIDE THE COAST AND PRONE TO SEASONAL WINDS AND UNSETTLED CONDITIONS. GUESTS ARE WELL ADVISED TO HAVE SUITABLE ATTIRE FOR ALL CONDITIONS. ADVERSE WEATHER COULD INFLUENCE A CHANGE TO THE HIKING PLAN AFTER CONSULTING WITH THE GROUP.
